We have just gotten back from the Embassy and all went well and we are done the Russia Paperwork!!!! Now just more when we get home but at least we will be HOME!!! I don't care what anyone says Bridgeville DE is one of the greatest places to LIVE!!!
Okay now that we have fixed the problem we can share. We have had one heck of a time getting batteries for the camera. We have bought several but we can't speak Russian let alone read it so buying batteries is a challenge.
Between being in Russia and having the boys Jodi and I challenge anyone to a game of Sherraid's.
Boys are doing extremely well. They are picking up English already. Picture books are great. Travis is really into it and picks up the books all the time.
We have gotten through this step realy fast and now we have a day to spare. Tried to get a flight home earlier but they are all sold out.
You know its a bad haircut whenn I encourage Jodi to cut Travis's hair. It looks better than it did and the long bangs where bugging him.
The boys are taking a nap as well as Jodi (I hope). I came down to the bar for my most expensie Jack and Coke, $35 bucks!!! One is my limit today, but it is the first one in a while and wow it tastes good.
I cannot wait to get home to see my girls!! I know everyone wants to come and see us and the boys and we love you for it. I do ask that you give us a couple of days and call before coming. Not trying to be Bucky Bad but each situation is a new one and we have to figure out one step at a time.
We think the boys are going to adapt easy but we will not know until we are there. Travis is going to go crazy when he sees Pop Pop s farm. Everything is "machina" to him and Blake it is "Beep Beep". Jodi brought picture books and they always go to the tractors. Watch out Pop Pop you have riders on the Rogator.
The boys are fun to watch as they are figuring out everything. They know who Momma is. The just sing and smile in the stroller.
Now for all you hospital folks, who needs Mediafast. Just walk 20 miles a day with your 2 boys. Yeap thats all the boys want to do is walk or stroll. I believe Jodi has lost another ?x? lbs.
What is amazing is the indepence the boys have been taught at such a young age. They dress, brush teeth, go to the bathroom, make beds, and they will walk 5 city blocks and much more. Watch out Allen Household girls, the boys are in the house. But you can have Scotty on your side, lol.
Okay to end my rambling blog. I thank God for my five children and a wonderful wife and great family. I want to get out of a city with 500 million people, yes 500 million people!!! I want be a country boy.
Love all of you and thanks for your support, love and prayers.
JWA
Holy cow - $35 for a jack and coke? That could be the most traumatic part of this trip! Hang in there - there's a bottle with your name on it in Bridgeville. Glad its warm enough to go outside with the kids at least. Will you still post pictures on the blog when you get home? I'll miss not having updates everyday! One more step and then home - hang in there. Jenny
ReplyDeleteAt $35 for a drink you can have a whole bottle for that price in Sussex County! We are all so anxious for everyone to get home. We'll wait for you to let us know when it is time to visit. The Allen family needs time to bond before you introduce the boys to your crazy friends (I'm speaking for myself!!!).
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot to be said for good old country living. Give me dusk and dirt over city traffic anyday.
We miss you guys and can't wait to hear that you have made it home safely.
If you want I can talk to Thurman Adams to see if we can get your area rezone for the nudist colony...
See what happens when you decide to paint your front porch...you end of getting married and having 5 kids!
We're so excited for you. We're always up to taken any of the Allen family for 4 wheeler rides, boat adventures and hunting.
Love, Renee' & Gary
MOM-MOM MARGE....
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found camers batteries and now we are so anxious for pictures. At least we know you have been taking lots of pictures. I do have one request. If at all possible I would love to have a picture at the airport with all 5+ bags of luggage, Jodi's purse, dbl. umbrella stroller, porta-pots and the 4 of you. Beverly Hillbillies won't be able to hold a candle to this pic.
It has cooled off a lot today and is really windy, chances of rain this afternoon. It is nice that the Russian weather has cooperated and you can get outside with the boys. Dad is so excited the boys are interested in the farm equip. he says we might have to get a bigger golf cart. Devon wants to drive now instead of ride. Watch out boys.
Friends/family from Maine to Florida & Texas are e-mailing and calling to say how much they enjoy the blog site but I think they are computer intimidated to add a post. We are all so thankful the "process" is over and things went so smoothly (Thanks to Jodi's great job of the details & paper work)and you will be home soon.
The girls are doing great, helped dig flowers last night for Church flower sale Sat. Horses are also fine, not crazy abt. the new hay, but don't think they have lost any weight.
I know you are as anxious to get home as we are to have you all home. The country side is beautiful. Dogwood, azalea, spirea, iris are in bloom to welcome you home.
Love and prayers to all,
Mom & Dad
I'm sure glad you were able to get new batteries for the camera, we are looking forward to more pictures. We knew it wasn't like Jodi to be depriving us of new pictures! Glad things continue to go well and we can't wait for you to get home. Jeff...sorry about the Jack and Coke thing, that's a rough one! I hope you can get some rest on Thursday, you certainly will need to be refreshed and energized for your long travel day on Friday. I'm with Marge...I'd love to see a picture of you at the airport, that will be priceless.
ReplyDeleteTake care and see you soon,
Love, Cheryl
Being married to a Jack man myself, I understand that the need for one is tantamount to everything else...You need to do a commercial, Flight - $700.00, Jack & Coke - $35.00, New Sons from Russia - PRICELESS! I bet Master Card would love for you to audition for that one!
ReplyDeleteNo problem waiting for the okay...you will have to get an appointment book so we can all make appointments at different times so we won't overwhelm our little men!
Isn't is amazing how other cultures teach their children things that we Americans are still doing for them far into their teen years? It will be nice, maybe Devon will want to do things for herself...well, maybe not! HaHa!
I know those boys are going to riding in the combine as soon as they can...they will also be dirty and grungy from playing like real boys, and they will come in and want food...take it from someone who now has a boy...they are bottomless pits and always seem to be hungry!
Wait till you have to buy tennis shoes...I about croaked at the $160 price for basketball shoes...girl's shoes don't cost that much!
We can't wait for you all to come home...we just want to knoe your home safe and sound and settling in...we are availalbe to help and just give us the word when we can visit!
To Russia with lots of love...
Mikki
